NBA Rockets’ Road to Redemption: Reigniting Glory Days

Dead in last place in the Western Conference, with only 22 victories and 60 games lost. How do they turn around things to get back on track?  Let’s see what the Houston Rockets have done to get better NBA Lines

New Coach for the Young Rockets

They went and got a young coach, just 45 years old former coach of the Boston Celtics, Ime Udoka, who in his first year took the Celtics to the NBA Finals. The young coach has a big responsibility to make this team reach the playoffs again, which had made in eight straight seasons before they let go of James Harden for the campaign 2021. He will be making $6,75 million for the next season and then it will get higher each year until 2026-27. This gives the coach a bit of campaign to work a process with young and some veterans that have reached the team. But who are these young players who will give them better NBA Odds

Kevin Porter Jr.

Just 22 years old, he had great numbers, played in 59 games, averaging 19,2 ppg, shooting for  .442 from the field and .366 beyond the arc, and plays three positions, point guard, shooting guard, and small forward. He will be coming into his fifth season with the club.

Jalen Green

Another young and bright player, just 21 years old. This young core of players has to prove now that there are made to stay in the league and that their rookie years are over, they have to start to win. This shooting guard played 76 games, was the highest scorer on the team averaging 22.2 ppg, and shot for 41,6% ppg.

Jabari Smith Jr.

Was that third young player, who played almost all the regular season 79  games, power forward from Aubum, cousin of Kwame Brown and son of Jabari Smith, shot for 40,8% ppg and 30,7% from three-point range. These three players who have been playing together for the last seasons are ready to group up with some veterans who have arrived as free agents.

Newcomers, Can They Change the Course for Next Season

Four new players will be joining the Houston Rockets for the coming new season. In a stunning display of financial prowess, the team showcased their league-leading might with an awe-inspiring figure of around $60 million, elegantly tucked within the confines of a fiscal sanctuary, ready to unleash their strategic maneuvers during the highly anticipated free agency frenzy.

They were able to add big men Jock Landale and Jeff Green and two more marquee players as Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks. They also landed veteran Patty Mills, who has played 14 seasons for the NBA.

Jock Landale

The native Australian who plays the center position, appeared in 69 games for Phoenix while averaging 6.6 points per game and 4,2 rebounds in 12,7 minutes per game. Landale helped his country to win its first Olympic men’s basketball medal with a bronze performance.

Fred Van Fleet

The former Wichita State player signed a three-year deal worth $130 million. He will be the leader of the team, its point guard, in the past season he ranked 12th in the league in assists 7,2 apg and 10th in assist-to-turnover ratio 3,54. Can help the young core and guide them to play better, mature and get more wins. The odds are uncertain, the team will win more games than last season and can fight to make it to the playoffs.

Dillon Brooks

The former Grizzlies player agreed to a new contract with the Rockets as Memphis let him go, he agreed on a four-year, $80 million contract with the Rockets. The 27-year-old has played his entire 6-year career with Memphis. He averaged a career-best 18,4 points per game in 2021 but had a subpar 47,5% effective field goal percentage. Brooks and Van Fleet can help this team to have an upgrade and have better odds, but don’t see them yet in the NBA playoffs, I think they need a third veteran player who can push the young guys to better numbers.
