Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas RaidersThe Raiders are on the hunt for their third consecutive win, hoping to tip their balance in favor of a winning record. But their road game record shows some vulnerability, having lost four of the last five away from home. Brian Hoyer, their quarterback, is showcasing a completion rate of 60%, although yet to score any touchdowns. Receivers Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers are the talk of the town, combining for a whopping 806 yards and 7 touchdowns. Josh Jacobs is a consistent performer, not only in the receiving game with 25 catches but also leading the team’s ground charge with 312 yards and a pair of touchdowns.ย

The defensive stats for the Raiders are also noteworthy. They’re restricting opponents to 21.8 points and 315.3 yards on average each game. Robert Spillane boasts 49 tackles, while Maxx Crosby and Tre’von Moehrig have made their marks with impressive sack and interception numbers, respectively. Though historically, the Raiders have faced challenges in road games, especially against teams with a not-so-stellar record, their 4th down conversion rate shines as the best in the NFL. Notably, players like Josh Jacobs, Austin Hooper, and Jakobi Meyers have had standout performances against NFC opponents in various situations.

Chicago Bears

Chicago BearsThe Bears are under pressure, hoping to pivot from their 1-5 record. Their home record hasn’t been their strength, having faced a series of defeats. Tyson Bagent, though boasting a 71.4% completion rate, hasn’t marked his touchdown territory yet. DJ Moore and Cole Kmet have been the silver lining, collaborating for 822 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Darnell Mooney is also pitching in with his receptions. Khalil Herbert is leading the charge on the ground, accumulating 272 yards from 51 attempts.

Defensively, the Bears are conceding an average of 29.3 points and 356.8 yards per match. T.J. Edwards is spearheading the defensive efforts with 70 tackles. Yannick Ngakoue and Jack Sanborn have also contributed with notable sack and interception stats. Unfortunately, their performance in Sunday games, especially in terms of covering the spread, leaves much to be desired.

Prediction

With potential injuries sidelining Jimmy Garoppolo and Justin Fields, this game looks way closer than it should. Comparing the quarterbacks, Brian Hoyer’s decade of experience overshadows rookie Bagent’s limited exposure. With the Bears already facing challenges, the absence of Fields might hit their offensive strategies hard. Given the circumstances, the Raiders seem better positioned for a win. My money’s on them sealing this deal while covering the -3 BUSR NFL Odds spread.
