STATE FARM STADIUM, SATURDAY 7:00 pm

Both teams raining champs Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals will be playing their second preseason game, The Chiefs went 14-3 last season and the Cards coming off a terrible 2022 campaign with a record of 4-13 and were able to defeat in their first preseason game the Denver Broncos by a single point. These two teams need the games to start preparing for the regular season that is just around the corner and probably it’s expected that starters will play more than they did last week.

On the Kansas City side, Head Coach Andy Reid, stated last week that his starters would only play the first quarter including its star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which was pulled out before that quarter finished. For Saturday’s game, Reid pronounced that the starters would go a little farther and play the first half and get pulled out depending on the flow of the game.

On the defense side, the Chiefs must show a better performance than they did in their first preseason game. Bolton and Reid struggled to contain the Saints’ offense; reserves needed to enter because of poor action on the starters in the last game.

On the Card’s side, they will probably have a tough night against the Champs, but some backup players need and want to secure their respective spots on the 53-man roster, something that will become official in about a week.

It looks like the following season could be very long for the “Desert Guys” and the most interesting aspect to manage is how to handle quarterback Kyler Cole Murray’s return. The team looks like they don’t have a roster ready to win now and could be in a significant hole by the time he is ready to return to action.

When will quarterback Murray return?

Kyler Cole Murray who turned 26 years old on Aug 7th, suffered a terrible knee injury back in December. The team is avoiding and going step by step to care for their franchise player and not expose him until he is ready to return to action. The Cards had a poor campaign the rest of last season once its star was injured when they went 4-13, the third-worst record in the league. They speculate that he will be ready for September, after having a fabulous rookie season in 2019, having 3,722 passing yards and twenty touchdowns, and was named Offense Rookie of the Year that season.

Murray has a massive contract worth $230,50 million, for five seasons, when he signed with the Cards a year ago. Cards head coach and his manager have stated they wish to see him play once again however, a proper recovery is needed.

The NFL Lines don’t give big chances for the Arizona Cardinals for the coming season, It’s a team looking to rebuild and probably Saturday’s game will show exactly who they are for the next season when they go against the mighty Champs Kansas City Chiefs.

Chiefs also have their problems

The injury report reports that defense tackle, Tershawn Wharton (knee), tight end Jody Fortson (shoulder), cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee), wide receiver Kadarius Toney (knee), and running back Isaiah Pacheco (hand) all missed Sunday’s first preseason game. The media has stated these same players will be out for the second preseason game on Saturday against the Cards.
