Daniels rewrote expectations for first-year quarterbacks, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year and transforming the team’s identity. His impact was so strong that the franchise owner bought a $500,000 rookie card in his honor.
This offseason, Washington doubled down. The offensive line, battered late last season, is now rebuilt with Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil and rookie Josh Conerly Jr. protecting Daniels. Their addition addresses a significant weakness and could further elevate the offense.

Dallas Faces Identity Crisis
The Dallas Cowboys enter 2025 with a projected 7.5-win total and more questions than answers. Brian Schottenheimer takes over as head coach and play-caller—his first full-time play-calling job in five years. While talent exists on both sides of the ball, execution remains a concern.
Dak Prescott returns with a receiving corps featuring CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and tight end Jake Ferguson. Ferguson, now in a contract year, has impressed in workouts and could top his Pro Bowl production from 2023 if he stays healthy.

Entering a full-scale rebuild, the New York Giants hold the NFC East’s lowest projected win total at 5.5 heading into the 2025 campaign. Offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo has made tangible progress, though everything depends on left tackle Andrew Thomas’ health. The team is 3-15 without him since 2022.
Russell Wilson is expected to start Week 1, with Jaxson Dart taking more second-team reps. Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito complete the quarterback mix vying for reps behind them.
Mike Kafka resumes play-calling duties as offensive coordinator. Viewed as one of the league’s top young minds, Kafka nearly landed the Saints’ head coaching job last cycle. A strong showing this season could elevate both his profile and the Giants’ offense.
On defense, the Giants’ front line ranks among the top units in the NFC. The secondary has seen upgrades as well, highlighted by the arrivals of cornerback Paul Debo and safety Jevon Holland. Still, the Giants face the league’s most demanding schedule based on 2024 win percentages and projected totals. A six-win season would mark real progress.

Philadelphia still leads the NFC East in terms of depth, continuity, and NFL Odds. But between a coaching change, a schedule increase, and a defensive turnover, their dominance is far from guaranteed. Washington, led by a rising star at quarterback and a bolstered offensive line, could quickly close the gap.
Dallas and New York each have talented cores, but holes at key positions, specifically running back for the Cowboys and quarterback for the Giants, limit their ceilings. Both are unpredictable bets heading into the fall.
